My kid experience comes from trial and error with these two boys. They are the sounds of laughter that fill our home, our motivation to do hard things and the most expensive things you could ever imagine. No joke. Kid things are so small, but so expensive, why??
Anyways. Parker is our oldest, he turned 11 this summer and calls himself a "pre-teen" and reminds us weekly that he will get his driving permit in only 4 years. Lord, help us. He is obsessed and so committed to baseball. He works out and/or is practicing every single day. He is making excellent grades in school while putting a lot of effort into ball. He started band this year and is playing the trumpet. I send him outside to practice, so it doesn't bother me...can't speak for the golfers on the course behind our house.
Knixon, who is 4.5yrs, is the stark contrast to his older brother. He is basically Dennis the Menace in tiny form. If there is destruction to be done, he will do it. If there is something to climb, he will get to the top. He was the first of the two boys to break a bone, that happened on Parker's first day of 6th grade this fall. That came 2 days after he got his head stuck in our dining room chair and I had to disassemble it to get him out. This kid.
It is amazing to me how two children from the same two parents could be so different! But I wouldn't have it any other way!
